Pacific Housing Assistance Corporation and Lanakila Pacific, two well-established Hawaiʻi non-profit organizations, are proposing to co-develop the state’s first disability-forward housing project, located at 130 South Beretania Street. Both organizations help individuals build independence and improve their quality of life by providing affordable housing and teaching life and employment skills.

About 26% of people in the U.S. have a disability, yet less than 6% of housing is accessible. Disability-forward housing is inclusive, encouraging people of diverse backgrounds to interact and build relationships with one another. We plan to reserve about 25% of the residential units for individuals with disabilities.
