Nā Hale Makoa will be a 140-unit affordable, workforce rental housing community in the South Kohala District of Hawai’i island. Located in Waikoloa Village, the project provides much-needed affordable rental housing for working families on the island of Hawai’i. The community will consist of one community center and 15 two-story multi-plex buildings with 40 one-bedroom/one-bath units, 80 two-bedroom/one-bath units, including a resident manager’s unit, and 20 three-bedroom/two-bath units.

Resident Qualifications:

To qualify for residency, tenants must earn at or below 140% of the area median income limit for the island of Hawai’i.

  • 140 one-, two,- and three-bedroom units, including a resident manager’s unit

    • 40 1-bedroom/1-bathroom units (651 sf)

    • 80 2-bedroom/1-bathroom units (774 sf)

    • 20 3-bedroom/2-bathroom units (1055 sf)

  • 30 units will receive Project Based Vouchers
